SIMPLEX 3D FILAMENT PRINTER

Pforzheim, Germany, March 14th, 2023.

In 2022, Renfert launched SIMPLEX – a 3D filament printer that covers the entire spectrum of orthodontic model fabrication, and brings with it many more benefits.

SIMPLEX sliceware with default presets

Integral part of the advantages of the system is the SIMPLEX Sliceware, which is specifically designed for the dental sector and with a “plug and print” approach in mind. It features preset filament profiles and default settings for typical orthodontic models (e.g. diagnostic, lab or aligner models). No more time-consuming search for suitable parameters – instead, printing results can be reproduced consistently.

Detailed accurate printing results at high process reliability

With a layer thickness of up to 50 μm, the SIMPLEX 3D filament printer guarantees extremely accurate model results, which – as an added bonus – require no post-processing. The filament-monitoring system and automated troubleshooting ensure a high level of process reliability, while the intuitive touchscreen navigation and relatively quiet operation at ≤ 49 dB make it simple to use and a pleasure to work with.

Four special filaments to cover each area of application

There are currently four different filaments available for the 3D printer, which offer impeccable hygiene standards as well as individual beneficial properties. SIMPLEX study model, SIMPLEX working model and SIMPLEX multi-use model are all made from or based on PLA. The material is environmentally friendly and can even be composted (in the appropriate facilities). SIMPLEX multi-use model contains not only PLA but also a high proportion of hard plaster. The SIMPLEX aligner model filament is tailored to meet the requirements of thermoforming of aligners, since it can withstand temperatures of up to 160 °C and the pressure/vacuum required for the process.

Partnership with FORESTADENT

During their final development phase, SIMPLEX manufacturer Renfert sought out a suitable sales partner due to the specialist orthodontic application of the 3D filament printing system, and soon found the perfect partner in FORESTADENT. The two companies are pleased to report a successful first year of the partnership.
