QuicKlear brackets - 2nd generation

In creating the 2nd generation of QuicKlear bracket, Forestadent have been able to further enhance the ceramic version of the well-established Quick-System. Owing to the new type of surface conditioning, the metal clip now looks dull rather than shining to ensure that it is much more inconspicuous. The edges of the brackets and slots have been rounded much more to reduce friction and increase patient comfort noticeably. 2nd generation QuicKlear® brackets are now also available for the mandible to provide all-round aesthetics.

Optimum aesthetics
The QuicKlear provides orthodontists with a twin-winged bracket which promotes the natural aesthetics of each and every patient. Thanks to their tooth-coloured ceramic - developed by Forestadent – QuicKlear brackets blend optically with the tooth. The small locking clip consists of chromium-cobalt which, unlike acrylic, will not discolour. The surface of the 2nd generation clip is polished dull to reduce reflection considerably and thus become hardly noticeable. Available to date for maxillary teeth 5 to 5, QuicKlear is now also available for mandibular teeth 3 to 3 so that patients can show their smile without having to think twice.

Convenient for both patient and operator
The rounded edges on the bracket and slot provide for patient comfort. These have been rounded even more on the 2nd generation QuicKlear brackets to cause even less friction. The proven locking technique used for Quick bracket systems is convenient for the orthodontist: Two integrated mechanisms guarantee that the locking clip can be opened easily and gently towards the occlusal aspect. The clip is now easier to open from the vestibular or gingival aspects. The especially widely-shaped guidance funnel and guidance grooves facilitate opening the clip with a probe from the gingival aspect. The clip can be closed by exerting gentle finger-pressure. The brief chairside times are pleasant for both orthodontists and patients.

An absolutely newly developed and patented bracket base ensures easy and safe handling of QuicKlear brackets. The inverse-formed hook-style base with bevelled edges and diametrically offset retaining holes provides purely mechanical retention. Therefore, the QuicKlear bracket not only offers increased bond strength on teeth but also trouble-free debonding following treatment. Enamel chipping is prevented as most of the adhesive remains on the tooth after debonding.

An occluso-gingival edge on the bracket base prevents excess adhesive flowing into the clip mechanism when positioning the brackets. This edge also simplifies the removal of excessive adhesive.

FORESTADENT’s new ceramic bracket debonding tool provides for safe and splinter-proof debonding of QuicKlear  brackets following treatment. Alternatively, modified debonding pliers can be used. Mesio-distal bevelled edges on the bracket base guarantee splinter-proof debonding.
