With this NiTi-SE-stainless steel uprighting spring even horizontally tilted molars can be uprighted. In cases where the distalising force is not desired it is recommended that a stainless steel ligature should be loosely fixed between the molar and the cross tube.

About 15º before optimal uprighting of the molar a new reactivation in the tip-back bend is necessary. This can be done in the superelastic part with the Memory-Maker (see catalogue) at about 15º-20º or in the stainless steel portion very close to the crimped connection.

For uprighting molars it is important to have a superelastic NiTi-SE-stainless steel uprighting spring and a cross tube. This uprighting spring preforms without any angulation in the stainless steel part. The cross tube is fixed distally to the canine on a rigid stainless steel arch wire with a minimum dimension of .017"x.025". In case there is no canine-canine retainer it is necessary to use this rigid part from one side to the opposite side even in uprighting one molar. Depending upon the individual oral situation three geometries can be applied.

has the highest intrusion force and can also be used to intrude uprighted molars with a force of 1 N. (angle 135º).

has an additional vertical step of 3 or 4mm (angle=90º). This geometry is useful in uprighting molars if no extrusion is desired.
