The compound retraction arch wire is used for retracting the anterior
teeth and for the finetuning of the torque in the central area. A
pretorqued superelastic rectangular wire for the anterior segment is
crimp-connected via crimping components to a rectangular steel wire in
the lateral/buccal area. Two additional retraction arms are positioned
in the rectangularcrimping components area. These retraction arms are
shaped, according to clinical requirements, to form tiny individual
hooks to wich superelastic springs are attached subjecting the dental
arch to constant retraction forces wich are causing a retraction of
approx 1,5 mm per month, are exerting.
