On Friday August 22nd, 2008 a United States District Court in St. Louis, Missouri in the case of GAC International vs. Forestadent USA; after a four day jury trial and after deliberating for only 2 hours, the jury rendered a verdict in favor of Forestadent USA against GAC on all allegations of infringement of the Voudouris `715 patent. This means that there will be no interruption in Forestadent’s ability to supply our customers with the Quick bracket.
Forestadent USA has defended itself in court and in the market place for the last 2 ½ years against GAC’s claims that Forestadent will no longer be able to supply the Quick bracket line to its customers. The jury’s decision rejected GAC’s claims and found that Forestadent did not infringe the patent that GAC had asserted.
Forestadent has always maintained and represented itself in a very professional manner regarding these claims, and has always denied that it infringed the patent. The jury agreed. Forestadent will therefore continue to provide the orthodontic community with the patented Quick bracket line as part of its full line of products.
