Recognizing the necessary anchorage, knowing how to obtain and maintain during treatment are certainly one of the fundamental points that lead to orthodontic success. For years orthodontists have applied complex systems and various devices to maintain the desired anchorage, sometimes only partially succeeding. Situations of absence of multiple dental elements could sometimes make orthodontic treatment extremely complex, if not impossible. The introduction of Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs), safe devices and simple clinical use, has revolutionized the orthodontic world, simplifying otherwise very complex treatments, and making possible treatments otherwise impossible. Like other innovative procedures, the application of TADs can initially be rejected by the clinician, considering it complex and unnecessary. The course, organized into a single day, will be aimed at illustrating the advantages and disadvantages of TADs, the characteristics, the simple clinical procedures, as well as the possible risks and complications. Our goal will be to increase the knowledge and confidence of the clinician in the application of TADs, through the analysis of the most diverse clinical situations, as well as by the application of TADs on blocks of synthetic bone.
