AIMS OF THE COURSE
Delegates who attend this orthodontic course will be given the tools, techniques and confidence to immediately treat moderate to difficult cases in their own practices. You will learn about the fundamental bases of multibracket orthodontics and understand the importance of biomechanics in the various treatment phases with and without TADs.
You will learn about the clinical principles and limitations of different orthodontic appliances and self-ligating bracket systems and anchorage reinforcement with TADs.
You will understand the actual archwire sequences in the different malocclusions, providing therapeutical concepts and clinical tips for each clinical situation, especially in the management of anchorage control and extraction cases. You will see how orthodontics has changed its mechanics since the introduction of cortical anchorage and TADs. You will learn and try onto typodonts where it is safe to insert miniscrews and how to fabricate the anchorage for various clinical situations (videos and hands-on). Several exercises will be conducted onto typodonts. You will learn the importance of a careful diagnosis and how to screen your patients to select those cases suitable for self-ligating multibracket therapy with or without mini-implants, with or without extractions, with or without orthognathic surgery. The course will include typodont exercises to support the theoretical lectures. There will also be opportunities to bring along your own cases for discussion.
