Aims of the course
The aim of this course is to give to the participant the possibility to work with Dr. Iodice chairside. The small number of participants (only for eight orthodontists) and the presence of live patients in office will give to the participants the opportunity to feel the real orthodontic practice and its clinical management.
Patients in different phases of therapy will be viewed projected live on a video screen, giving to the participant the feeling to be directly at the chair. Furthermore, the trainees, under the guidance of Dr. Iodice, will have the opportunity to learn theoretical sessions and clinical advice on the use of skeletal anchorage in orthodontics, with its several applications, advantages and limits.
The introduction of mini screws and temporary skeletal anchoring systems (TADs) in orthodontics resulted in a revolution, modifying and simplifying the management of the anchor, one of the focal points of orthodontic treatment. The use of the palatal skeletal anchor offers clinicians new opportunities, with the possibility of developing various devices, for the most varied orthodontic purposes. The course aims to introduce the clinicians into the fascinating world of palatal skeletal anchorage, guiding them in the choice of the appropriate site and related insertion protocols. All the clinical phases and the components necessary for the development of orthodontic devices with palatal skeletal anchoring will be analyzed in detail. Several clinical cases will be analyzed illustrating the most varied orthodontic possibilities related to this innovative method.
