PRESENTATION OF THE COURSE
Class II malocclusion has the highest prevalence compared to those that characterize our patients. Nevertheless, very often the therapeutic approach to this type of malocclusion is based mainly on clinical opinions, dated and partial information. Frequently, therefore, the clinician, mainly if at the beginning of his orthodontic journey, is in difficulty in identifying the right choices that characterize the correct diagnostic and therapeutic path, poised between aesthetics and biological limits, between efficacy and efficiency. The monothematic course, on the other hand, aims to provide participants with effective and efficient protocols to address the treatment of class II malocclusion in the child, adolescent and adult with a rational method based on current evidence. The training program includes an in-depth study of the main concepts of differential diagnosis of class II malocclusion, of the relative treatment planning, of the orthopedic-functional approach and with a fixed multibrackets method, with or without dental extractions. Participants will be given the opportunity to bring documentation of their own clinical cases, so as to be able to evaluate diagnostic and / or therapeutic path in a collegial.

PROGRAM

  • Differential diagnosis and classification of classes II
  • Aesthetic vs cephalometric analysis
  • Treatment in phase I vs treatment in two phases: what evidence?
  • Orthopedic-functional treatment of classes II
  • Class II treatment with fixed multibrackets method:
    • Not extractive:
      • Treatment sequences
      • Biomechanical analysis of inter-maxillary elastic bands
      • Extra-oral traction: still a reality?
    • Extractive:
      • Treatment sequences
      • Choice of anchor
      • No-compliance systems: clinical and biomechanical differences
      • Treatment of classes II with skeletal anchorage
