Bite Jumping Screw (Catalog)

  • Properties

Removable aid for the correction of Class II malocclusions

    Easy and safe chairside activation
The Twin Block appliance by Dr. William Clark is one of the most popular functional appliances for Class II, division 1 malocclusion treatment. Standard versions of this appliance can only be reactivated by a time consuming procedure. This modification allows a progressive advancement of the bite due to the integrated Bite Jumping Screw (according to Dr. Marc Geserick). A greater orthopaedic effect with less incisor tilting is achieved in Class II, division 1 cases. The progressive advancement of the mandible helps to reduce tension in the craniomandibular muscles, therefore improving patient comfort and acceptance.

The incorporation of the stainless steel Bite Jumping Screw in the appliance can achieve an easy and safe chairside activation of up to 6 mm. This greatly reduces unpleasantness for the patient and staff.

The modified Twin Block has great advantages for patients with severe over-jets or limited ability to advance their mandible for the construction bite.
